Tips for preparing Yourself for Motorcycle Road Trip

Road trips on motorcycle are getting immensely popular these days. People tend to enjoy riding longer distances. Before you go on a long ride, It is important to prepare your body as you prepare your Motorcycle.

Long ride might vary from person to person. As in, for someone who is riding for the first time, 200kms might be long and at the same time, experienced riders might find 2000kms as long ride.

Here are my tips which I follow when I go on long rides and it will definitely help you a lot.

Work on your Fitness
You have to make sure that your body is fit enough to finish the ride. It requires both mental and physical fitness. Riding for long distance will affect your butt, back and neck. Therefore, hit the gym. These will help you in gaining stamina. Try on it at least a month before you start riding so that you get decent fitness. Also Meditate. Meditating just for 30 minutes will boost your mental fitness which will keep you going on your ride.

Cycling
Yes, cycling !! This is the best thing you can do to strengthen your butt, back and neck which will take the major toll on your body during ride. Just an hour of cycling per day will show great results.

Rehearsal Ride
Go on a rehearsal ride with all the gears and luggage which you will be taking on your ride. This will give you a feel of how your actual ride would be and accordingly, you can make any modification which you think would help you when you are actually riding.

Switch to healthy food
Stick to healthy diet. Avoid greasy, oily, sugar or fried food. Instead, go for oatmeal or protein rich food which will help in building resistance.

Get used to riding
Nothing is more important than adapting your body to rides. Start with short distance and gradually increase the distance of your rides. This will help your body to adapt to rides and improve your focus while riding.

Stretching
This is something which we all miss. Stretching your body before rides and also during your breaks will help in preventing body sores and you can ride for long without any pain. However, we are humans and at some point, we will get uncomfortable. But, there is no better feeling than finishing your ride. Every ride you go will teach something new and we have to respect that.
